HELL-o and welcome to another round here at CruellasConcoctions! Today’s beverage of choice is an exceptional drink that has often been overlooked and ladden down with so much fruit that it makes it look more like a fruit dish rather than what it’s orginal purpose was! We’re talking about the Old Fashioned which was originally concocted in 1806 and served as a “breakfast” drink. Ah—those were the days!
Here’s how we do it up in the Crypt:
1 sugar cube
3 dashes of Angostura Bitters
Club Soda
2 ounces of Rye Whiskey
Place the sugar cube in the bottom of your old fashion glass ( this is a MUST as drinking for the enjoyment of the flavor of your liquor requires the correct drinking glasses here humans. Try serving this in a coffee mug. You deserve a mob of angry zombies coming for your brain.)  Wet the sugar cube down with the bitters and add a short dash of the club soda. Crush the sugar with a wooden muddler, ( a spoon or chopsticks will also do in a pinch)  and make sure to swirl it around the bottom of the glass, add ice and mix well in the glass to ensure proper coating of the cubes with the sugar-bitters mixture. Pour in Rye and serve with a swizzle stick. ENJOY!
Please join me weekly here at CruellasConcoctions for more recipes, drinking made devious of course! Viva la Liquor and bottoms up kittens!
