Every once in a while I stray from my hard liquors and opt for something a little more delicate and sweet in flavor. While I’m not a fan of too much minty anything, I will say that the Grasshopper has really become a guilty pleasure of this here ZomBroad.
Here’s how we do it up in the Crypt:
3/4 oz green creme de menthe
3/4 oz white creme de cacao
3/4 oz light cream
Shake all ingredients with ice, strain into a chilled cocktail glass, and serve to your ghoulish visitors.
Grasshoppers are a sweet, mint-flavored, after-dinner drink. The name of the drink is derived from its green color which is provided by the crème de menthe. Reputedly this originated in the French Quarters of New Orleans and gained popularity during the 1950s and 1960s throughout the South.
Enjoy a delicious Grasshopper some hot summer night by adding vanilla ice cream instead of the light cream, garnished with a thin mint cookie. Viva la liquor and bottoms up kittens!
